Paint A Smile brings art workshops to kids in our communities, currently serving the Greater Toronto Area. Organizations, schools, or agencies may request a workshop through our online application or through email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Once an application is submitted, it will take approximately 4-6 weeks for an art workshop to be implemented.
We focus on student-centered approach to teach art. PAS workshops instill in youth the confidence to appreciate who they already are and what they innately have to offer the world; then, to think critically, ask important questions, and pursue meaningful opportunities in life – against all odds.
Teaching artists are hand-picked by PAS’s founder, Sylvia Chan, to ensure PAS has the best service it can possibly offer. Artists are all professional and/or experienced in their craft. Workshops include painting, sculpture, and collage, in compliance with the learning objectives and our teaching methodologies. PAS aims to educate kids on different topics, materials, and techniques through a variety of workshops. PAS makes workshops accessible, both in terms of location and circumstance; we’re able to reach our kids despite the physical and psychological walls that were built to keep them closed off from the rest of the world.
Because art is an opportunity to bridge our inner selves to the world, bringing depth to our conversations, and connecting a beautiful glimpse of our existence with others. ~ Jenny Lu, Marketing Director – PAS
